✓ ClassicClassic game. Still as unforgiving as the original, in fact probably a bit easier in terms of missing key items and events than the original. The controls are easy enough, though I do recommend changing it to be only the eight directions and not free. Great music, does the job. Although it is supposed to be an easy one touch battle it is not and takes away from the enjoyment - all I do is run away from the monsters hmmm...... ✓ My favorite YSI remembered that I first played YS2 with my friend around 11 years old. I felt so amazed by its story background and fantasitc controlling setup at that time. YS is my favorite ARPG game without doubt, but I don't have opportunity to play YS1 until I found dotemu transplanted this classic game into iOS today. I want to regain my childhood memories and experienced that affects again. Besides, I would unconditionaly support the game in any way and wish Falcom won't go bankrupt so quickly and could be able to continue to bring more classic stories in YS, even if it just keeps transplanting old YS series into different game platforms..Duke_LumberVersion: 1.0.1

✓ Forever popping bubblesGreat music? Check. Nice anime art style? Check. Overblown, claustrophobic story about an island trapped behind a stormwall (yes, that's a thing)? Check. Superweird but satisfying combat system akin to popping bubbles? Check. Brutal boss fights? Check. Slightly annoying in that you keep bumping into NPCs and initiating conversations you don't want? Yeah, a little bit. But this is a great action RPG, a stone cold classic, which has been very nicely adapted for iOS. My finger kept sliding off the screen with the virtual joystick on an iPhone, but I've had loads of fun. ✓ Ys Chronicles 1I wasn't really sure what to expect when I purchased this. The only reason I did is because Chronicles 2 was released and my RPG friends have been pushing me to get into Ys for years now... and this happened to be on sale. It is kinda strange that it took me this long to grab it, as I love all of DotEmu's ports, but around the time it came to the AppStore, I was falling out of RPGs and getting more into Roguelikes and Tactical RPGs. Anyway, once you get the whole 'bumping' attack mechanics down (I'd recommend watching a few YT vids if you're having trouble - I also clicked with it more when I removed the Free movement and set it at 8 directions), the game really seems to open up (while still remaining streamlined for an RPG) - and it's carried over fantastically into the awesome boss fights. Yes, it's short - for an RPG - around 10 hours - but that's kind of what finally made me buy the game (aside from the sale) - knowing I'll be able to play and beat the game within a week instead of dumping months of my life into yet another game. ✓ Ignore the 1-star reviews, this version quite niceI was skeptical about how Ys I would play with touch controls, but it translates nicely. The "bump" battle system in Ys I (and Ys II) is well-suited for touch...I love the PC-88 version of these classic songs, but you won't be disappointed by the rich, sumptuous "updated" songs, either. If you enjoy this game, you should absolutely play the TurboGrafx-CD port of Ys I & II (1989)...the game itself is solid, the soundtrack is phenomenal and the cinema scenes are still impressive, despite their age..Esteban K.Version: 1.0.0

✓ Fun (but walkthrough required)I love the visuals of this tough action game. Boss fights can be crazy hard but they are still enjoyable. Often I would not know where to go and had to consult a walkthrough. Unless you have played the game before I think you will need to do this. ✓ Perfect ControlsThis game is absolutely brilliant, I played it right through to the end and beat the final boss. The controls are just perfect, all you have to do is slide in one direction and keep your thumb on. The bump system is really cool, and makes Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen a very unique game. ✓ Surprisingly AmazingI never played the Y's series but after playing for 20 hours I can honestly say that it's iOS port is truly worth the money I spent. It's such a classic game that I don't want to put it down. The musical scores make it 100X more amazing listening through my studio headphones. You will not be disappointed in this game if you like games like Chrono Cross and the like. Not saying it is exactly like them but a beautiful representation of how good an iOS port can be. Trust me, get this game if you like rpg's Amazing port, with 2 game modes, different soundtracks, force feedback for when you fight monsters and an amazing control output It has a bump system when you fight so you can change if you want your character to run or walk I choose run because if you use another finger (2 fingers) he walks, perfect for strategy and all around compatibility. Seems very large even though I'm not far into it. I'm not here to spoil anything just here to say it was worth $5.00 to me, my favorite game on my phone.
