✓ Really disappointedI had purchased gems on the sale around (Black Friday) When going in to purchase things I wanted, it would let me purchase but the app crashed I'd go back in and look to see if my purchasesd items were in my stuff and they were not, but it took my gems! It did this at least a good 9x that night! Also I went back in and it had purchased this goofy looking pond worth 320 gems I had never even looked up to purchase! I turned a ticket in and they asked me to provide my purchases from the Apple store which I did! They then tried to tell me a list of things found I had purchased! But what they aren't understanding is I have no items from the things I purchased just my gems are gone! They then terminated my ticket! I have never once and it will show turned in a ticket, never complained once, but when you mess with money I spent then told me you can't give me back my gems or money I'm done! Don't waste your money! I am out $30 bucks! They have terrible customer service and don't treat their customers good!.Version: 1.1.0
✓ Good game, but…This is an oldie but a goodie, 3 stars instead of 5 because with everyone having more than one device these days it would be great if you could do some major updates… allow us to play on more than one device and update furniture 😉…We can now login to Facebook so just take it one more step and use that option to play on multiple devices….Version: 1.2.1

✓ OkIt’s a good idea, but I find it kinda boring. A few minutes of playing, and almost all I can do is wait for money. I wish we could actually do the challenges instead of just waiting for our characters to do them and earn money. And maybe you could add a few mini games? ✓ Neighbor troubleThe game is fun but it’s impossible to complete goals without neighbors and they aren’t easy to come by. The forums I found are from years ago. ✓ This will help!!!!!!This game is kinda fun. I play this game pretty often, but there are some things that need to change. (These are the only things wrong, the game is great.) 1. All the cool/good stuff you can only buy with gems. (gems are really hard to get) 2. When I click one of the things that gives you money in a certain amount of time every now and then it will glitch. For example, I’ll click the one that gives me $3,000 in eight hours, but in eight hours it only gives me $1,500. When I can get $1,500 in two hours. 3. It sends me notifications telling me I have money to collect, when really it just wants me to come play the game. 4. My friend and I both got this game so we could play together, but she didn’t like her house. So she deleted the app and the got it again. But it keep her account. She tried many other times (through the App Store, through the link I texted her), yet nothing worked. So she just deleted the app for good. The creepy thing about it is, it still shows her as my neighbor..Version: 1.0.9
✓ I like the game, needs improvement thoughI really like the concept of this game. I do think it is a rip off when it comes to the gems. I think the game could have been designed better in general. Quarks with some smaller objects not fitting on many counter spaces or objects not fitting in other areas because of the big square highlighted under the object is way larger then the circumference of the actual object.I also wish it didn't take so long on construction of furniture, I only have one neighbor so it takes days to do things. Overall despite its many flaws though, I still find it fun and play it on a regular basis..Version: 1.0.9
✓ Needs MAJOR UpdateI’ve been playing this game for years now, redownloading it each time. I love the idea of the game but as the years pass by nothing about the game changes. 1. The whole design needs a fresh modern update. Maybe some more realistic features, new music, overall look. 2. Furniture and items in catalog need to be changed. I like the idea that every season there’s always something new to look forward to. Not just the same old stuff. 3. Personally I would change the way you can rotate furniture. Instead of tapping “rotate” ever time just simply tap on the price of furniture and it will change directions. 4. I think that in the community when looking for new people to play with it should be limited to the level range that you are currently in. Not 40+ levels above your rank. 5. Create more task that you can do to earn coins. Some examples would be cooking meals, or cleaning or repairing the house. 6. Create more true to life task and jobs that would come with owning a home. Like paying off the mortgage, things about the house break or need repairing. Being able to host little house parties and invite other friends to join. I would appreciate if a lot of features they have in the Sims were added into this game because I see a lot of potential but nothings changing. I’m sure a lot of people can agree and with these changes could bring more people to play and actually enjoy..Version: 1.2.1

✓ False advertising and dishonest practicesYour ads don’t pay out most of the time because you’re sneaky and dishonest and make the X out button only good for bringing the viewer to install the app, instead of bringing you back to the game for a payout! I am now leaving reviews every time you do this and letting the advertisers know their ads are misleading! I will not be installing nothing malicious on my device and find your business practices are dishonest and sneaky! FIX IT!! And also your earn cash always pays out the minimum task instead of the two hr task I always put on before I leave the game!!! Again sneaky and CHEAP!!!.Version: 1.2.1
✓ Expect to spend real moneyAt first I enjoyed this game but the only way to move forward is spend real money and/or annoy your friends to invite them to play which I refuse to do. I was so happy to finally have found a game where i can decorate a home without the bejeweled aspect to it, but I’m not dumping real money into a game. Maybe if the deals offered were better... And you should be told that if you purchase more property and want to build onto it, you’ll need to wait weeks or spend money. Also, it’s been months since Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving and they still have pop ups encouraging you to buy things for those holidays. Someone got lazy and hasn’t updated this aspect of the game. It’s March! Also, when you purchase anything you have to wait for it to build. So you may have to wait 18 hours for something to finish up! Annoying. Where are the instructions? Can you not build more walls? The faq don’t answer enough questions..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Good game but...It’s a really good game and I really like playing it hit there so a couple of thinnest that could be fixed. 1. When you get to a certain size you cant buy anymore land, so I think you should be able to extend upwards and have different levels. 2. All rooms should have four walls and there should be an option to take them down and put them up. It would be good if you could also love the doors around. 3. Recently it’s been telling me I need to connect to WiFi for it to work even though I’ve got a tally good connection. I’ve tried on data as well but it’s still not letting me play on it..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Updated reviewUpdate 2: I got a new iPad for Christmas and I went to email who helped me before and TeamLava no longer accepts emails. You have to fill out a "ticket" with your request. I did that and I got an automated email with my ticket #. It has been almost 2 weeks and nothing. My game still isn't transferred, there is no one to contact. It says in the email to reply to the email with any questions but when I do, i get ANOTHER email saying they do not accept emails. 😳 The automated email also says I can check the status of my ticket by clicking on the ticket number but when I do that it takes me to their website with an error message. They must really want people to NOT play their games. Update: I contacted TeamLava and they were able to teansfer my game for me. The customer service was great! Although I do think the game needs updating with a login so you can transfer data yourself and maybe a few more challenges, I am very happy now 😊 I was very invested in this game. Then I got a new phone and nothing carried over! I was up to a $1.6 mil home and had over 50 neighbors and now I'm back at square one. I emailed about it and the only thing I received was a link how to login in to every other game they make EXCEPT Home Design Story. Trying decide if it's worth the time to start over..Version: 1.0.9
✓ I changed my mindIt’s a good game only because you don’t have to play mini games to earn coins. ✓ Please Fix My Problem!I love this game! It’s so addicting and fun! I love that their isn’t a whole match game, you can just create! Update: Hey! Love this game! But when you do the jobs, it kind of glitches. Like I set the 8 hours one and then the next morning I got the money you get for the first job! This has been happening a lot lately. And usually it always happens with the 8 hours job. I want the money I set up for, this has stopped me from making a lot of progress. It happens almost very time I set the job. Please fix it! At this point, any job I do, it only gives me the amount you would get for the first job. I press the 8 hours one, and the next morning, I only get $300!!! ✓ Dumb and potentially expensiveThe majority of items are only available to exchanges against gems, which cannot be earned in any way, just bought through in-app purchase. Of course, you can always choose not to use the nice stuff, just furnish your house with limited, ugly bits... But then again it will take hundreds of hours to earn enough credits to do just that. ✓ They don’t care about youI spent 15 minutes doing a survey for gems, it’s obviously not worked so I’ve contacted them, they said they can’t retrieve lost currency but then ended there sentence with a link to go and buy gems 🤦♂️how can you not fix a mistake in you’re own game lol storm 8 in general is dodgy, all they’re games took 5 mins to make on unity and they make money from it? ✓ DisappointedAt first the game is good but then when I bought couches, chairs etc, the game would make me spend over 100 diamonds or ask friends for diamonds. I have nowhere near 100 diamonds. What should be a couch, just sits there as a pile or rubbish. It wouldn’t be as bad if there was actually a way of getting diamonds. I like how you can earn money in the game (without making in-app purchases) but the only way to get more diamonds is making purchases. Also, I think you should add a search bar so you don’t have to hunt through all the categories for a simple thing. And PLEASE make gems easier to get by earning them like you do with coins. But I agent played it in a long time. and another thing, you can't restart the game or reset your progress, and the quests are all the same, because I remember when I was playing all the quests , were just mainly download their other games. Or buy stuff from the shop. And I remember when playing there were even ads like billboards near your lot for their other games. ✓ Needs an updateI’ve been playing this game for a while now and I think it needs an update of some sort, although it seems highly unlikely. The game is good, requires patience but a good game nonetheless. An option of having multiple houses (even maybe in a different location) should be added. Once you finish your house, meaning buying every piece of land and furnishing it how you please, then you are done and there is nothing else to do besides maybe re-decorate. Different ways to get gems should also be added, not just buy or download other apps. ✓ Still a mixed bagI recently redownloaded this app after not playing for a few years. I had grown bored and frustrated with it for various reasons. Getting gems is HARD but they’re required for the most desirable items (and most of these cost A LOT of gems.) I’ve tried to download the games that will give you a few more gems, but the app just shuts down when I try. Besides being the coolest items, some gem items are the only way to have matching furniture in a room. (Chair=coins, matching sofa=gems) For a while, new items, both gem and coin, were offered regularly; this seems to no longer be the case, and, really, it hadn’t been for a while before I stopped playing. I’ve only been back for a week or so and I’m already considering deleting the app again. I’m getting bored using the same, old, cheesy combinations. On a more positive note, I received fantastic customer service that allowed me to recover my level 100, >$12 million home after several years away..Version: 1.2.0
✓ ABSOLUTELY NO HELP FOR ISSUES WITH THIS GAME!!!I contacted Support about Issue with Disappearing Cabinets after Purchase. 3 times I purchased a Cabinet, 3 times it Disappeared after it was ready and I placed it. On top of that, another Cabinet that was fine, Disappeared when I moved it. The Flower Vase that was on it is still there, the Cabinet is gone! I don’t know if that spot is currently, The Bermuda Triangle, in my House but, I DO KNOW, the UTTER LACK OF SUPPORT, for HOME DESIGN STORY, is HORRENDOUS!!! Being sent a terse email telling me, that there aren’t enough people to give Support for the Game, which you developed is extremely poor! The Icing on the Cake is, that the Cabinets don’t seem to be available to try and replace the 4 missing Cabinets! Why bother putting them out to purchase, having us go through all of the work of buying, designing, etc, only to have them Disappear, and know, not be able to replace them! Shoddy business work, S8, TeamLava! I’d go back to giving this game 5 Stars, if this were fixed, my Cabinets returned, and they are put back to Purchase more. ✓ Worse game everI have just started playing this game when I relise that I have lots of gems and money, but I haven’t even used 1 gem and I am at 3!!! Ex: fruit bowl is priced higher than a trash can, and gingerbread house is priced higher than a table with decorations. I can’t even stand it anymore. Anyone who’s reading this comment, don’t waste your time buying this game like I did (on actsident). 1 star for effort. BTW, those pictures up there that show all the pretty rooms and all the things you can do, is when you get to level...hmmm....100,000. You can’t buy it right away, in fact, I didn’t even see 1 item in those pictures except for a flower vase. And I was on level 109. ✓ Good but....I played for days before knowing there was a daily bonus as it would give me a message that the game in online only when I would sign in even though I was fully connected to my wifi. It has stopped doing that, but there’s now a new issue where it doesn’t show the hearts to let people know how active of a player you are, it just shows the number 4 and nothing else. Also, you should be able to block someone through their home, you shouldn’t have to wait for them to comment because if they don’t, you have no way to block them. There’s a lot of bullies on this game and blocking would be a bonus. Please add this option..Version: 1.2.0

✓ Fun gameThis is good for relaxing sometimes, I enjoy the concept of this game. But just like other users mentioned, I find the price of furniture varies way too much. Some take a crazy amount of gems just to buy a sofa in a different color. And the amount of materials required to build some furniture is unreasonable. Takes way too long to get. The tasks are kind of annoying too. If I don't want to download any more apps, or I don't want to buy that hideous piece of furniture to put in my house, then I can't move forward and get any new tasks. I just ignore them now and do my own thing to design my own house. Isn't that supposed to be the point of the game?.Version: 1.0.9

✓ StuffierI love this game; been playing for at least 4 years. The past couple years have been disappointing due to the lack of new items to buy. The last update finally came about a year ago maybe. I was excited to be able to expand my ‘home’ & to see a bunch of new items! I THOUGHT it was going to be an ongoing thing again but it was very hard to qualify to purchase the new items - I never did figure out what it took to open a lot of the new items. Anyways, there hasn’t been any more updates since. Very disappointing. For the first couple years of playing, I’d give a 5 star rating; for the last couple years, I’d give a 2 star rating simply due to the lack of new items..Version: 1.2.1
✓ Customer care not helpfulDevelopers , I had many gems , and came back to play to see that 1/2 were gone. I don’t know if I accidentally hit the wrong button or my kids opened the app. But you SHOULD HAVE A FEATURE that asks you if you are sure you want to use the gems or not. Many people are requesting this so they don’t lose their gems. Why don’t you add this option for your players? That’s why I deleted the app over a year ago. About to do it again. There are other games that accommodate this. Update... ok there has not been an actual update in over a year I just saw. So I guess I won’t bother and just delete the game again. ✓ Home DesignThis game doesn’t work properly! If you do a 2 hour task you only get coins (140) for a 2 minute task. The same applies for an 8 hour task. Then it cost me 20 gems instead of 10 for a name change. Getting in touch with storm8 is like shaking hands with Jesus - never likely to happen! Probably won’t play this game for much longer. Too many things wrong with it! And no way to fix it 😡.Version: 1.0.9

✓ Very disappointed after downloading app againI got a new phone and was exited to get this game back to continue playing and I think I was on level 25 or further but downloading this game and can’t even log back in. And I was like oh well I’ll start over it’s a good bored game at work but I noticed every time you delete the app and download it again or download the game on any other device you can’t log in to your storm8 Id. It’s useless to have a password so why do we have to have a storm8 Id. This app needs an update so we can download app and put in our ID and PW to continue the level we worked hard for. It takes a lot of time to save money and to buy items for our house and to not get automatic access or even be able to log in this app is pointless..Version: 1.2.1

✓ Listen!I've had the game for quite a few years and at first it was great fun. New goals to reach to get certain furnishings. Great rewards for trying other Storm8 games, some of which I've kept. I know a lot of people who have played for years. That says we players are pretty loyal to you (Storm8) but you're not reciprocating that loyalty. ✓ MsSince sept software update, this keeps on crashing and was never able to access it while all other games worked fine.., so I tried loading it on other iPad but I had to start from level 1..... So I decided to transfer this game from my original iPad to new one through iTunes along all other games that I play and everything worked well, I could play all games from the level I was on except this one. This is still asking me to start from level one....I could see me original home by sending a friend request to my original storm id but why can't I access and play from the same I'd and same level.... ✓ Running a scamForget about this game and stay away from Storm8 games. Says it’s free but you have to spend tons of money for gems or you can’t do anything. It is limited in what you can do even with the gems. And customer service is atrocious. There is a serious flaw in popups that randomly show up while you’re in the middle of a function causing you to click on it and taking your gems so that you have to keep paying for more. And they won’t fix it and refuse to give you the gems back. I guess that’s how they make their money. No wonder everyone complains about customer service. And now they don’t even give support for this game because of “limited resources”. They just automatically close your support ticket! What a scam. ✓ Too many bullies!This game is great! Apart from the fact that there is too many ways for a bully to write swear words and bully others. Something needs to be done about this NOW. My wall is constantly getting hammered by bullies, and I'm a really nice player. ✓ Furniture size is oddSome of the furniture is disproportionately small in comparison to others. The sectionals for example, are tiny placed next to a table. I hate that u can chat it is very bad because when I was visiting a house I saw that on a post she had a very mean message. Also it is not safe for kids to be wandering around social games because some adults might not know their a child and send mean things on their chat wall. Do not let your child play without adult supervision. Also to get free gems you need to watch ads and some are inappropriate for children. e.g. guns, zombies, killing and not very often swearing! ✓ Love this but...Great app. Avid daily player. However, the app has undergone some recent updates and apparently now it functions a bit differently but there was no alert to the user. A new item appeared so I tapped it to see what it looked like. Usually when you do this with any item, it prompts you to press “accept” or “cancel” before you “purchase” the item with your coins or gems - gems cost real dollars to get. But the new item “gym crates” apparently do not work this way. So when I clicked it to see what it was like, it purchased it automatically! 84 of my gems are now spent and I didn’t want the item. I have been saving them up for an item I did want that is now out of my reach unless I spend real money and buy more gems again. But I’ll never spend my real money on this app again because of this. This puts me very off the app. The items should always function the same way or should clearly state to the user otherwise! Poor UX. Scam..Version: 1.0.9
✓ Too glitchyI could really like this game... but there are a couple of niggles; Constant glitches- keeps making me wait for money, then when it’s time to collect it glitches and I don’t get any money. Too long to progress- getting permits/materials/waiting 2 days for plots of land or rooms... all gets a bit boring. Overall it could be a good game if the above was addressed. As a commenter said below- changing from day to night would be good so lighting was effective. I don’t think the developers are too bothered about making the game better though, I played this game about 6 years ago and recently re-downloaded, yet the game and items are pretty much exactly the same as they were back then..Version: 1.1.0
✓ Okay?So I used to play this game and was looking for some offline games to play and came across this one. I downloaded it obviously and it’s great, just like I remember it, however the “jobs” are glitching. The 8hr ones are giving me the money for 2 minute ones. Despite the fact I have to wait 8 hours! This means I don’t have much money at all in the game therefore I can’t get very far. This is a very small issue that I am picking but it does really limit the game for me, I don’t know if this is just my phone if so please tell me a way to fix it!
