✓ Okay, butI was in the mood for a good pirate adventure. However, this story's strange decision to mail sorcery and piracy just took me out of the mood. I guess for $.99, it isn't bad. Still, this could've been much better. The writing isn't bad, I just didn't believe in the universe that the author created. Also, there were a few glitches. But, i took 2 stars away because it is extremely short, and once you finish it there is almost no good replay ability. The game is good for only 2 to 3 run throughs, then it is the same. ✓ Should walk the plank.Most of the options are uninteresting or verbose, and since most of the time there are only two options, the text and verbiage gets old quickly. Plot is roughly acceptable, but only barely. Descriptions lack a degree of interest and detail to spark real curiosity about people, places, or events. I think the whole thing would have benefited overall from a little less 'adventure' (which is what I assume they were trying to do with the combat and daunting situations at every conceivable turn) and a little more effort into the literary side of things. Yes, I uninstalled it as soon as I got the 'end' screen. Overall: worth the dollar I paid to save me what I might have invested in inkle games otherwise, but only that. ✓ Good stories marred by bugsGreat atmosphere and writing. Can be read in one sitting, which encourages multiple readings to explore different story paths. Good content and production values for the relatively low cost. Unfortunately, there are a few bugs in the final chapter which, depending on your choices, will either loop you back to an earlier point in the story or prevent the story from ending at all. This spoils the immersion and ruins what could have otherwise been a 5-star experience. The "text is cut off" bug mentioned by an earlier reviewer is present on the iPad in one of the orientations; orienting the device the other way mitigates this issue. If the bugs in the final chapter will be addressed I will update my review and rating; the story begins strong, keeps you interested, but the bugs in the final chapter ruin the experience that was built up so well up to that point..CryolatheVersion: 1.0

✓ Where's the treasure?Very limited text-based adventure. Not a whole lot of options or interesting characters. As far as I can tell you can't even check your inventory. ✓ A short, pleasant sailIt's perfectly okay as an adventure, but it's very short indeed compared to something like Sorcery or a Fighting Fantasy. I played it through twice in a couple of days. There are a few choices on the way but ultimately you seem to end up with exactly the same results (I purposely tried to do the opposite actions the second time). ✓ Not a GameMy only real complaint is that this has been completely miscategorized: it is *not* a game. This is a choose your own adventure book and should be listed in the books category. There is no discernible game element at work here. Unlike other Inkle creations your choices are also very limited, the vast majority of choices are between A or B. It lacks the fun, creativity, and depth of other Inkle titles, but that's also setting the bar very, very high. The graphics (few though there are) are gorgeous but for being an entirely text based offering the story/writing just isn't very engaging. It's not bad, but I'm very disappointed with it largely because it was so misrepresented. If I had known in advance that it would lack the elements that made other games so successful and fun and was solely a book I think I would be more receptive to it and might even enjoy it more..Earth Versus SoupVersion: 1.0
