✓ Bad gameSo I saw this game on the app store and me being fascinated with crime, I downloaded it. On the first case, I thought it was pretty good. But that’s what all games do on the first part. Then I got to the second case and everything I did cost something. It costs 1 star to do ANYTHING. Like talk to a suspect, repair torn things, or investigate electronic devices. Then you have to wait about half an hour to autopsy a body. You can earn stars by investigating the crime scene-which costs 20 energy points to do. I don’t know, but i think that when you run out of points, you either have to buy them, wait, or watch a minute long advert. If i could, I would rate this 0 stars. What a bad game.Version: 1.27

✓ Ads saturationI’ve played the three previous editions of Criminal case and enjoyed them, I’m now nearly at the end of this but the amount of ads popping up is ridiculous, after virtually every turn. It was a fun way to pass the time, but I got tired of only having the choice of either paying real money or adding fb friends. I didn’t like bugging my family or my actual friends since most of them don’t play these games. And I didn’t like adding strangers to my friends list. And I’m extremely picky about what apps I’m willing to pay for. The ads are a bit annoying, but not any more than they are on a lot of other apps. The games were/are a lot of fun and challenging. ✓ Far too many adsNot a bad game but given low rating because of the continual bombarding with ads. Every other turn you are bombarded with ads that have absolutely no bearing on anything (I tend to do something else until the ad is finished). It does ruin the game as it takes so much longer to get through the clues. You are constantly asked to upgrade to ad free for £7.99 and if you say no, you are then bombarded with more ads. You are asked to watch ads to gain energy or gold. That is fine, I’m happy to do that. What annoys me is when you have watched these they then try to force you to watch even more to be able to play. This results on effectively having to watch at least two adverts per one try at a scene. Not something I am willing to do. I only continued playing so I could write this review. ✓ Problematic ad leads to losing starsI do have a problem with a game advert which freezes. All I see is a request on a black background telling me to rotate my iPad (which I do), then....nothing. I wait for 30 seconds and it’s still frozen. The only thing I can do is cancel the video....which means I lose a star. I have now lost 3 stars. When I got a new iPad for Christmas it was one of the first games I downloaded. However after finishing level 1 I can’t move to level 2 without either paying or getting three of my friends to play the game. This is ridiculous and I refuse to do it. ✓ Great game ruined by adsVery good graphics, enjoy the stories and characters but an ad playing after completing a scene 9 times out of 10 is crazy. With the option to watch an ad in exchange for free energy, forcing ads upon the player is ridiculously greedy and ruining a very good game otherwise. I’ve played the other ones including the original so love the format, puzzle and scene consistency but getting really frustrated with the incessant ads. When I want to have additional energy, I do choose the option to watch an ad in exchange. I force close the app so I don’t have to watch the automatic ads. I hope that it does mean a loss of revenue for the game developers only because its way too much. Having an ad run occasionally, say after running out of energy or completing a star would be fine. I expect the game developer also sees lots of revenue from the additional in-app purchases such as paying to speed up the forensics, buying additional energy or purchasing sticker packs. ✓ Frustrating AspectsSo this game is okay. The storyline is interesting, and it is a lot of fun. I would absolutely love it of not for a few, really irritating aspects. 1) there is no “bank” or storage place for the extra energy things you can buy or win. So in order to use them, you have to run out of all your current energy then try to use more, then you get a pop up, and it’s just a poorly done system. 2) there are power boosts in the game (like starting the round with extra hints or stuff) but you can’t choose when to use them. When you win them, it forces you to use them next round. I HATE that. What game does that?!?! It’s ridiculous and irritating. 3) there are “achievements” you can win but you don’t get anything for winning them. It’s completely pointless. I mean, it doesn’t have to be a big prize: coins, or energy, or specialty avatar customizations, or SOMETHING. But why have achievements if you don’t even win anything from them? This game would b a 5-star game if they fixed just a few small things, but frankly, the little things pile up and make it so irritating, why even play?.Version: 1.33

A few are complete but the others I still play and enjoy them. I don't think XP's are a bonus and should be removed, several times I've received them and lost the energy refill (i.e. I worked hard to get it perfect for a full refill, so my XP's were 0, then 3 spins gave me a total of 600 XP's!). The AD's have popped up when I start a TIMED "Crime Scene", and I can't do anything until the AD finishes! That's my only 2 issues, they are great games & I hope you're working on more.
