Great before, mediocre nowI’ve been with Google Express for about a year (since they first came to my area) and it was awesome at the beginning. Prices were same as in store, free shipping at $15 and coupons galore. Prices jumped probably about 20% recently and now one has to spend $35 for free shipping. Ugh! I mainly use Google X for Costco shopping, which comes from Chicago although I live in eastern Michigan so therefore I pay higher prices AND higher taxes as well. So even with a coupon sometimes I’m paying more than going to my nearest Costco, but I guess convenience comes at a price..Version: 23.0.0

Clueless customer serviceWhen I added the product to the cart it said two day shipping after checking out it said earliest delivery date is 3 weeks away I called google express they said they will swap it out I said ok. I got no confirmation. Called back they said they are not allowed to do that. I asked what can I do they said call the company selling the product I called them they said we didn’t get any order numbers which was provided to me. I called google express third time and no matter what I asked for they said they don’t do it . They don’t take responsibility for delivery. They don’t take responsibility for the order number not being pulled up by the company the order was placed through, they don’t take responsibility for anything. I asked for a supervisor or manager I was put on hold for a long time and came to speak with same rep who said I submitted a request for for supervisor. Put me on another hold and came back with he will call back not sure when. DO NOT USE THIS APP!!!.Version: 28.0.0

Google has CHEATERS in there google ExpressI don’t care who is vendor is I ordered iPhone by seeing googles name. Once I received the iPhone it was not turning on. I called vendor as well as google Express what to do with it both suggested to return this item. Vendor told me not to use google return tag they sent me separate tag in my mail I’d and told to use that while returning. As I bought from google I used google return tag to return once it delivered to them I started getting call from vendor by saying we will not give your money back as you have sent knee cap instead of iPhone. I called ups as well as google Express to inform this situation. UPS told they have delivered correct things to Devid and I did not get much help from google Express. I did not expect this kind of customer service from google as name itself is brand. I don’t think this kind of thing helping google to keep their name. I hope so action will be taken against that vendor and google will help on getting my money back..Version: 36.1

Sub Par ServiceThe app is fine, customer service is a joke and they charge you after you get your things. Not the most sound of business plans I would think, but it was just strange to experience on a user level after ordering two CASES of energy drinks. They kept changing my shipping date and every other person told me “it’s the original order” “it’ll be a replacement order” get your stories and systems straight. I’d be happy with their service if they were honest and could keep their information straight..Version: 23.0.0

Shopping lists used to be great......Now they are a pain. What is that ‘Products I like’ that gets in the way of my lists? Why did you mess up with the item checkboxes? I despise the ‘cute’ little icons and images that are wrong (I write ‘pan’, and it uses 🍳 instead of 🍞— just don’t do icons!!! why???), clutter, and make the list less functional. Now it’s a swipe to checkmark, but is it left or right swipe? Oh no, I deleted the item! I just wanted to checkmark it! Lists were simple and easy to use. You’ve made them annoying and complicated. Get rid of the ‘Products I like’ idiocy!!! Get rid of the icons!!! Go back to simple checkboxes!!! Update: like a crab, one step forward, two steps back. You guys continue to add ‘features’ that just make the app harder and more confusing to use. Not only you’ve doubled down on the ‘products I like’ garbage, but now you have a ‘price tracking’ pushing the shopping lists deeper and deeper into uselessness..Version: 46

UselessGoogle Express is running on fumes. It started as a same-day service for pantry delivery and they delivered everything in these convenient shopping bags instead of cardboard boxes that have to be broken down. Now anything that you can get from them, you can get directly from the merchant. The minimum purchase for their Target orders is now 35 dollars just like on the Target app, and yet the Target app has many more items available than when you shop them through Google. I wish they would improve this or dismantle it..Version: 37

They must have monkeys packing the orders...Rather than making a Target run to pick up some household supplies, my husband suggested that I order through Google Express instead. Because of the $35 minimum for free shipping I went ahead and added some soup, crackers, and cereal that were on sale to the order. The order arrived a day ahead of schedule BUT the packaging was a complete joke! The cans of soup were thrown in with the crackers and cereal, which of course, wound up being crushed. And the cans! Every can I pulled from the box was in worse shape than the last! One was so severely and sharply dented that I threw it out rather than risk botulism. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Unpredictable e-commerce system and practiceThis review is for case of how google express business practice handle efficiently when there is problem during purchase experience. Google Express is not reliable nor predictable when user attempt complete a simple purchase due to error validation during checkout. It’s validation points to credit card validation or shipping and billing information or at most point to generic help with apparent id number 329. When none of above guides help point doesn’t help, customer service contact help only to say case beed review by specialist and contact back user within or up to 72 hours. Then in absence of specialist response, by contacting again, user is given same another 72 hours. In between, user misses sake price, promotion credit available for time period, spent several hours troubleshooting as debugging like. It perceive as user in a role of consumer is technical developer for Google Express in intend of design. Then again, even retry through different way, still cannot complete the purchase. Inefficient process to put in for a simple and core process of purchase experience: Choose item, Select Item, add to cart, enter payment and shipping info, and submit. Only consistency is the same experience on mobile and desktop. Shame on such name and platform and lead consumer to waste time..Version: 34

Walmart orderI had a coupon for Walmart express pay. I was suppose to get free shipping and the prices were suppose to match Walmart. Well after the order was delivered I scanned the products on the Walmart app. The prices on some items were x 3. I tried to return items to Walmart store. Walmart receipt for express just disappeared. So from $30 expense after returning the items I only got $17 back at Walmart, and had to use the only 3 license returns I had. The prices are ridiculous. I want be ordering through express pay again, and I even have a $10 coupon. that would cover shipping ONLY WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE available for return when your not happy. It’s a wait if time and money. Unless you just have extra to throw away. Just go to Walmart app. Prices better with price match. Free shipping on orders over $25. If the price can be beat. Too many clicks to shopping listThe recent update to this app has made it even harder to keep using Google for my shopping list. I have to click through products I like before Ivan get to my shopping list this makes it extremely frustrating when I am out shopping. Everyone I try to look at my list I have to clock through it all again. The refresh rate also makes it hard to check things my list or it may check of the item there below what I am trying to check off. It’s is obvious that google is just trying to buy things through its app. I am reaching out shopping list apps because of my frustration..Version: 43.1

Losing retailers and products - abandonwareI used to love this app - great prices and quick delivery on household items. Over the last 2 years I’ve been ordering paper towels, toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, and so on. But as time went by there were less and less options. Now Target is not shipping bulky items through Google Shopping and limiting the number of items your can order. This is yet another app where that has had so much promise and Google seems to have abandoned. RIP OFF!!!For Google to be such a huge and successful company I don’t understand why they would not Honor their promotion. There’s a 20% off promotion for 1st time purchases, when really its only a $20 off coupon! I called in to express my issue and I was told that there’s nothing that they can do about it and that it’s a mistake! Lol, how is that a mistake, how is it possible that I’m the 1st person to bring the discrepancy to their attention? I would’ve expected way more from such a household name! Poor customer serviceVery poor customer service. Don’t be fooled by cheaper items, you are loosing value in the customer service. Just order straight from the source. I tried to place an order and the app kicked it back saying it was declined, but my account was charged anyway. When I called customer service a young lady named D.C was very nasty with me and kept putting me on hold while I was trying to talk and explain the situation. When I asked to escalate the call and speak to her supervisor she told me the supervisor’s were all busy and would call me back in 30-40 minutes. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable with that and I would like to hold. She came back to the call and said her supervisor said that I could not tie up the line and gave her permission to end the call..Version: 36.1

WARNING: NEVER BUY FROM GS. See why below.I don’t usually write reviews (especially bad ones) but feel obligated to protect others in this case. First please NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from the Google Store. We ordered a series of products for a renovation that came broken and they would Not take them back as they claim to have an insane15day return policy. Who does this? Most products need a professional to install them and we did not know they were broken until just after the 15day limit when the installer informed us which we still had to pay for. As a result I was transferred for an hour on the phone with google only to be told very rudely that they would not help me and simply didn’t care. I’ve never had a company treat me so poorly. If you order from here you are guaranteed failure, rudeness and ZERO empathy with any problems they caused. Save you’re self the nightmare and shop elsewhere..Version: 40.1

Get rid of “Products I Like”The Saved lists functionality now has by far the worst usability miss I’ve seen from any Google product in a long time - forcing the user 100% of the time to now click through the lists drop down to get to their “primary” shopping list (which will NEVER be Products I Like - nothing there). Painful to watch this failure go unchanged week after week (it’s been 2 months of this since the April 15 update). Now looking seriously at both the Bring and Our Groceries app - the latter which has substantially better shopping list functionality. Sigh....Version: 43.2

Worst shopping experience everTried twice, both orders have multiple items. It’s so disappointing that both of them have a part of the order got cancelled at the last moment. The second order is even ridiculous that one of two same item got cancelled due to oos. To me I think Google Express could do much better for near real-time stock tracking. Or at least I should be informed oos of certain item short after the order has been placed, instead of being noticed until the whole order is shipped. Poor customer serviceMy first (and last) time using Google shopping was not great. They promoted a first purchase discount which I tried to take advantage of and it continuously gave me a billing error and indicated it was my credit card. I corrected and verified all information on my Google Pay account and it still wouldn’t place the order. I called customer service and they said they couldn’t help with the problem but that an account specialist would look into it. I got an email a couple of days later stating that the error was either 1) I had already used the discount or 2) my billing info was incorrect and that I should try the purchase without the discount and “be on the look out for future promotions”... wow. Not only was the issue not identified but no solution either. No further inquiry about my situation? They can’t see my blank account history that no previous orders had been placed or discounted?Not exactly inspiring confidence in a “Google guarantee”. I’ll be shopping elsewhere..Version: 39

Terrible shippingIt’s a convenient app to order things. However, I have had lots of problems with shipping as I have been told by logistic companies that Google Express didn’t provide them with an accurate address for my order to reach me. In spite of all the strides made by Google in the field of AI, I cannot believe that they have no algorithm to solve such a simple issue in my opinion. Very disappointed as it has now happened twice. Don’t know how when I order from other websites, they are able to deliver but Google Express messes it up in spite of you calling customer service twice to fix the same problem on two different occasions..Version: 31.1

Convenient ShoppingVery convenient method of shopping. Mostly all of the merchandise is attainable and affordable which is also a plus. But sometimes the expected delivery dates are ridiculous. When I first started using this app a couple years ago, almost every delivery window was a 2 day period max. Now I gotta wait 2 weeks for one pair of sneakers?? Do better Google Express. Very poor experience...I ordered a costume for my daughter the app on a Saturday that said was due to be delivered the following Friday That is The only reason why I purchased it. Monday and Tuesday came and went and order was not shipped. I call the google customer service, based out of the country, to no avail. I called back again Wednesday and was told the same thing I was told told the day before “ it is expected to be at your house by Friday”... HOW??? There was no shipping confirmation sent! Thursday I called the company directly and was told “the packaged must’ve gotten lost we will issue you a refund” OK! Then Friday, the day it was expected to be delivered I received an email that my item was shipped and scheduled to be delivered 3 days after initially promised. SUPER BAD EXPERIENCE MY FIRST TIME USING THIS APP TO SHOP... CERTAINLY THE LAST TIME I USE IT!!.Version: 39

Switched item, higher price than top store, impossible returnUnless you have access to a computer and a gmail account you cannot make a return. They cannot get a return set to go through the app - not with a label printed. For the return label you will need a computer! Double check your online price - theirs was higher than Williams and Sonoma for the same cookware. Virtually could not cancel the order placed on a Saturday for a vendor that opens on Monday and could not get a refund for an entire week. Worst online purchase and return experience in a decade.Version: 38.2

Beware unexpected “Tax & Fees”I place my first order with Google express last week. It was generally a simple process and I liked that they have discounts and offers. On the other hand, discounts are somewhat canceled out by the fact that you may be charged an additional flat “ taxes and fees” charge on top of the price of the item. In my case I don’t pay sales tax in Oregon, but they charged me $10 for tax anyway. When I emailed about this charge, I was told that “sometimes it’s based on tax wherever the vendor is, not the shipping address,” yet no specifics on what the tax rate used was given nor the location of the vendor (Costco). I don’t pay sales tax at Costco so it still doesn’t make sense to me. Will probably avoid purchasing here going forward, as this really seems like a hidden shipping fee of $10..Version: 24.0.0

Shopping List is a disasterI got this app solely for the integration with google home/nest shopping list, ie “hey google put milk on my shopping list.” Everything gets on the list, fine. It’s getting to the list that’s bonkers. Originally it was buried in the settings or profile section of Google Home app, so took a few clicks to get to but fine otherwise. Then they moved it into Google Shopping which still requires a few clicks, still fine I guess. Then they really started to mess with it. They added pictures to go with list items, in case I needed to be reminded what milk looks like, that made it take forever to upload an item manually. The feature was quickly taken down. They’ve since fixed it, apparently. The biggest issue I have now is that you have to open the app, go to saved, then click down, then pick your shopping list. It does this EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU UNLOCK THE PHONE. First world problems, but incredibly annoying when making my weekly quarantine break to the grocery store and I have like 60 or 70 items on there and Face ID doesn’t even work because I’m wearing a mask. For how excellent their products usually are, this is especially frustrating..Version: 43.0

Going by theses reviewsIt’s seems like some people are getting treated very unfairly and some are getting treated great, some have left one star and some have left 4 or 5 stars. I don’t get how so many can be so different on their review of this app, mainly they are complaining about the store itself, one was Walmart that stands out to me, she complained she got ripped off! That’s huge to me and that they wouldn’t take back things, Walmart does the same to me, so I won’t be using Walmart on this app, I will use target though or any other store. I’m looking for stores that aren’t very large chain stores though, like Family dollar and Big Lots, I definitely won’t use Costco but I would use Food 4 less and also Winco and this new store in another city that is like Winco but Winco hands down is my favorite store to shop and Target..Version: 25.0.0

Worst online shopping experienceThe worst shopping services I have faced until now. I had purchased an item to send as a gift for a friend and there is no gift receipt. Upon calling/chatting with them for 35 minutes immediately after purchase, i find out that there is nothing that can be done on their end to have the receiver of the package not find out the price of the gift. So I went into the orders section to cancel it and its not allowed because the window for cancelling an order is 30minutes. Now i cannot book it from an another website that can provide better services either. I have put a lot of time and effort into finding a gift the receiver will like and having it be delivered as just any other package with the receipt attached ruins it all. It was supposed to be special and its ruined because I shopped on google express. Im disappointed and will never shop with google express again. Its upsetting..Version: 31.1

Constantly cenceled orders.This service is a complete joke, and serves as an extremely poor middleman. At least half of what you order doesn't ship, and you find out days later that it's allegedly "out of stock"and can't be shipped. Customer service will issue you credit for your trouble... but then you try to place a new order which doesn't ship. Don't let the 1st time customer discount codes lure you in, You'll only end up wasting your time. Especially if you try to buy from Target, which has canceled every single ONE of my orders thus far. Poor InterfaceThe sort options are extremely limited, only giving you options for price sorting or by relevance. No A-Z sorting available is disappointing as it is helpful to see things like if a certain game or movie is sold by the provider without having to rely on a poor search algorithm. The categories constantly misclassify items as well and needs some surprising amounts of work from a company who’s primary product is delivering relevant search results. Also, *Beware* of third party sellers on this site who are not well know retail brands. Some are honest vendors but there are known issues with some who may not provide products in the expected condition. Make sure you are aware of any electronics sold as refurbished if it’s not through a well known retailer..Version: 45

Do NOT waste your timeOnly giving one star because giving zero stars isn’t an option. Don’t waste your time!! Order directly from the merchant. My experience with these guys began in May (over 2 months ago) when I placed my order. The expected delivery date came and went and I still hadn’t received any updates on my order. Spoke to customer service who advised me there was a “temporary glitch” in the system and my order had been cancelled on their end for some reason. They gave me a $25 credit to use and I thought “WOW, how great!!” and placed my order again.. only to have it canceled once again. And again a third time. Here’s a tip Google Express: take all the $20 credits you’re giving away in an attempt to compensate for your terrible service and put it towards fixing those temporary glitches. Shopping list featured buriedI downloaded this app specifically because google remove the google home shopping list from the google home app and placed it in this google shopping app. I cannot stand how the app defaults to the “products I like” list. I don’t use the products I like list. I don’t know what that list is and am unable to delete it. Every time I leave the app it takes me back to the “products I like” list, and have to dig through the menu to get back to my shopping list. This is def a first world problem but infuriating all the same please fix google.Version: 43.0

Poorly packed w/damaged goods, higher pricesI was thrilled to see I could buy from upscale grocery stores 50 miles away. In Florida we have no taxes, but the foods apparently came from Georgia where there is tax. This wasn’t disclosed until I I received the package. The difference was enough to be significant. This explanation was handled poorly by customer service and took several frustrating calls. Then I finally received the box, full of damaged goods. The potato chips were individually packed and were perfect but everything else (cans, noodles, candy bars, etc) were thrown together. Most of the cans arrived dented, sometimes severely. If that happened to cans, can you imagine the rest? Crumbled egg noodles, crushed upscale candy bars...only the potato chips arrived safely. I took pictures of all, but considered the hours spent trying to figure out my extra charges and counted this as an expensive lesson...never again.Version: 26.0.0

Won’t be using this service again!Ordered a pair of Vans which I am aware are unisex shoes, checked the listing and size multiple times because of this. Google had it listed as women’s shoes. Once the confirmation arrived from merchant it shows men’s size 9 rather than women’s size 9 like the listing and original order. Contacted google once I realized this and Csr seemed to not care much at all. Advised I’d just have to return shoes once I got them. After expressing I was unhappy there was no resolution she told me she, “Agreed and thanks for the insight”. First and last time using this. No point in having a middle man. Oh and the shoes say they won’t even arrive for 14+ days. Shipping times are shorter on merchants direct site and google’s listing still incorrectly lists the shoes as women’s sizes..Version: 36.1

App isn’t working correctlyThe start up on this app to get too the list is way too long. You open the app, navigate to the list and then it takes over 15 seconds for the list of lists to show up. You tap the down arrow and nothing happens. Very frustrating. We only use it because we have the google home at the house, which we love and use regularly. It is convenient that anyone in the house can add to the grocery list, but the lag time on the app when you are trying to open that list is unacceptable..Version: 41.0

Unhappy New MomI was trying to use the convenience of Google Express to prepare for my unborn sons arrival. When I received the crib mattress I ordered I eagerly set it up but to my dismay there was a bend in the mattress that would not flatten out. This would not be safe for me to lay my newborn on. So I started the return process. I was told I could return to target and receive a gift card, which I was fine with. When I went to Target they told me they couldn’t help me. When I called Google Express they told me a number to give them that would secure the return and that didn’t work either. Now I’m being told I have to ship the item back to get the refund. This just became very inconvenient for me. Contemplating not using Google Express again. It’s a bad reflection on Google as a whole..Version: 38.2

Don’t bother!DO NOT USE GOOGLE EXPRESS. Google express should be named anything but. 4 days after I placed my order (on the day of expected delivery) they cancelled one of my items because it was “sold out”. I was issued a $15 credit for my trouble and used it on another order. On the second order they used a shipping company that thinks it is acceptable to deliver a package at 11pm despite saying on the tracking page that it would be delivered before 9pm . Customer service was useless in this case pushing all of the blame on the horrible delivery company and only offering to request that they deliver at a reasonable time..Version: 34

ReturnsOrdered a Fitbit flex 2. Received it a day before expected which was great. Opened the box and was trying to charge it but it wouldn’t work. Hopped on a customer support chat and apparently not only can they not ship another one, I have to print a return label, drive to a usps, drop it there and wait for 10 days to get my refund back. All that because they failed to work on a better return policy. I couldn’t even go to the store and do a simple exchange. The only left they left to include is traveling to their main headquarters and dropping it in person. I’m sure not everyone would run through this experience but if you work 8 to 6 everyday, the only way you can manage all this is to wait till the weekend. This is what I get for being too lazy to do an actual in person purchase..Version: 34
